Kirk Morrison is a former American football player in the National Football League (NFL). Kirk belongs to black ethnicity as he comes from a black family. He was born on February 19, 1982, in Oakland, California in the United States. His parents are Doris and David Morrison. Morrison attended elementary school at Sacred Heart which is now called St. Martin de Porress situated in Oakland, California.
Kirk went to Bishop O’Dowd High School after he finished his 8th grade. The school is also in Oakland, California. He won varsity letters in track and field and football. In football, he led his team to two Northern California Section 3A championships, two HAAL championships. He was a two-time All-HAAL honoree, and as a senior, he was awarded the HAAL Defensive Player of the Year.
Morrison completed his graduation from San Diego State University and had an outstanding playing career in the University. While he was at SDSU, he won the award of Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year two times. He also played college football at the SDSU.
He was drafted in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the Draft. He also played for the Buffalo Bills and Jackson Jaguars.
In 2006 he finished the season with a team-leading 128 tackles, a sack, two interceptions and a defensive touchdown. In the 2007 season, Morrison started his season with an interception in each of his first three games. He led the Oakland Raiders with 120 tackles, and he also tacked on ten passes defended and a quarterback sack to his totals.
In the season of 2008, Morrison was ranked fifth in the NFL with 135 tackles in total. He forced two fumbles and had one sack in the season. He finished the 2009 season where he was tied 6th in the NFL with the total of 133 tackles. He and had two sacks while playing most of the season with a dislocated elbow and he also forced three fumbles, recovering one.
In the 2010 NFL Draft, Morrison was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars along with a fifth-round pick and also with the 108th pick in the same draft. Morrison's first game against his former team, the Oakland Raiders, was held on December 12, 2010, in Jacksonville where the Jaguars won 38-31.
Morrison signed with the Buffalo Bills on August 24, 2011. He was released by the Bills on December 3, 2012. On December 20, 2012, he was signed again by the Bills.
On August 8 of 2016, Morrison announced that he was joining ESPN Los Angeles where he was going to cover the NFL`s LA Rams broadcast games.
