Sunetra and Rowan had first met in the year 1986. Later, the courtship happened for nearly three years until they got hitched in 1990. Their wedding took place in the famous Russian Teas Room, New York City.
The couple’s bonding was beautified by the birth of their son, Benjamin in 1993 and daughter, Lily in 1995. From there on, everything was perfect on Sunetra life; a loving partner, and children. But things did not come out as expected for Sunetra as her husband started dating an actress, Louise Ford in 2014.
Seeing her marriage breaking into pieces, Sunetra concluded getting divorced and filed a petition. Most surprisingly, the Court granted Sunetra divorce within sixty-five seconds as Rowan was not present for his hearing. As part of a divorce deal, Sunetra received 10 million worth mansion from her ex-husband.
Taking the side of her mother, Sunetra’s daughter applied Sastry as her surname instead of Atkinson and even called her dad "Dick head" on social media. The 23-year-old daughter named Lily Sastra does not want to gain fame because of her father, so she performed her own one-woman show titled Lily in London, which focused on her singing talents. She definitely does not want to perform comedy like her dad!

Sunetra's son Ben Atkinson, similar to his sister Lily, does not want to follow their father's footsteps. Wanting to join the military, he was accepted at Sandhurst, the prestigious officers’ training school.
Sunetra’s ex-husband Rowan is not only father to Sunetra's two children anymore. He became a father again at the age of 62 with his second wife, Lousie Ford.
