Since childhood, he had the interest to be a "picker," collecting rocks and beer cans. He was so interested in collecting stuff that he never forgot about this and always wanted to do something related to collecting for the living.
Career
Frank Fritz started his career as a fire inspector, covering an area from Des Moines to Cedar Falls, Iowa, which was contrary to what he actually wanted as his career. Hence, he was not satisfied with his profession. Interestingly, his "collecting stuff" instinct made him collect firefighter and firehouse-related trinkets even when he was working as a fire inspector.
At one moment, he sold one of his collected items for 475 dollars; that is when he realized that his hobby could also earn him money. He, eventually, left his 25-years long job as a fire inspector and established his antique shop in 2002.
