Both of her parents are from the south of Nigeria. Her father, Stan Victor, is a writer and accountant, while her mother, Barbara Victor, is a caseworker. Idara is the second of three daughters of her parents.
Coming from a family of music lovers, Idara learned to play piano and dance at the age of six. She found interest in becoming a classical pianist from the age of eight.
When she was thirteen years of age, her aunt entered her into a pageant, where she won the title of Miss New York Junior Teen.
