Gage Golightly was born in Penn Valley, California, on 5 September 1993, as the youngest of four children (one sister and two brothers). Her mom and dad are a nurse and a doctor. She received her education from Laurel Hall Middle School and Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in La Cañada Flintridge, California.

At the age of eight, Gage first decided to become an actress, and a year later, her dream became a reality when she landed in the 2002 film Speakeasy and the television film The Long Shot. After some years, she co-starred in the sci-fi miniseries Five Days to Midnight as Jesse Neumeyer.
In 2006, she got a chance to starred in the Disney Channel sitcom The Suit Lie of Zack & Cody as Vanessa, following her appearance in the TNT series Heartland.
