Karan Soni is an American actor of India origin best known for his first significant role in the film, Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), as Arnau. 

He is also known for starring in Betas (2013), Other Space (2015), Deadpool (2016), Ghostbusters (2016), Office Christmas Party (2016), Detective Pikachu (2019), Miracle Workers (2019) amongst many more. 

Now, Karan has completed three projects, Like a Boss, Trolls World Tour, and Superintelligence, whereas Coffee Shop Names are under post-production, and Mira, Royal Detective, is filming.

As for his education, he attended an International school in New Delhi, India. Later, for his further studies, he enrolled at the prestigious University of Southern California, School of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. 

On-Screen Gay Role

In the 2015 TV series, Other Space, Karan portrays the character, Stewart Lipinski.

Other Space depicts a world where everyone is equally silly, women are dominant, and men are submissive. Also, in this show, bisexuality is pretty much taken for granted due to which it is addressed as an issue. 

As for Karan's character, he turned into a queer character and eventually turned bisexual.

As the series developed, Stewart's sister, Karen Lipinski, makes fun of Stewart by referring to an alien as his boyfriend.

Karan first made his Hollywood debut in 2010 when he portrayed the character of Kemal in Yusuf Sumer's comedy film, Kaka Nirvana, alongside Rachel Quinn.
