New York-born Allen Payne is known for his recurring role as Lance Rodman on NBC's The Cosby Show. The multi-talented actor emerged on the screens in the '90s. He has indeed become one of the endearing figures in the entertainment industry. 

Allen is also known for the portrayals of Gerald, the drug lord sidekick opposite American actor Wesley Snipes in the film, New Jack City, Jason Alexander in Jason's Lyrics, and detective justice in Vampire in Brooklyn.

His talent has captured the attention of the audience as his career has taken a rise. But sadly, Allen suddenly took a hiatus from acting. However, due to his strong character portrayals, the audience still remembers him.

Allen was born on 7 July 1968 to parents Allen Roberts and Barbara Reeves. He grew up in the city of New York alongside his brother. Holding American nationality, he embraces African-American ethnicity. 

Allen was extremly close with his family, and that was the reason he was an emotional wreck when his mother passed away. After the death of his mother, he also withdrew himself from the public eye. 

Moving forward to his educational period, Allen attended Pennsauken High School in Pennsauken, New Jersey. While studying, Allen's interest drew towards acting, after which he landed on his first role on television with The Cosby Show. He appeared on the show as Lance Rodman for two seasons. 

Later, Allen made a guest appearance on Malcolm & Eddie as Preston. While taking a step towards his acting career, he started appearing in many series. Soon, he landed on his first significant role in the television as Clarence James (C.J.) in the sitcom, Tyler Perry's House of Payne
