Barbara Gibbs may have covered all kinds of news, but it is telling stories about the "positive influence of the human spirit" that she loves the most.

For her very passion, the Nashville Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded her an Emmy (2008) for the best feature story entitled- Homeless Singers, a story about three homeless men in Raleigh with a passion for being gospel singers.

Barbara also won an Emmy nomination for her second feature- Barbara Gibbs' Little Valentine, about a young boy in Spring Lake, New York City, who stirred her heart on a particular Valentine's Day.
