Steve Raible’s Bio: Journey From Pro Football To Broadcasting

Steve Carl Raible, better known as Steve Raible, was born on 2 June 1954, in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. His father, Carl, was a trumpet player and music educator whereas his mother, Lee, worked as a homemaker and hospital volunteer.

Steve was the first graduated member of Trinity High School to play football. Raible then started his career as a tight end in the wishbone offense playing for Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

The TV anchor got selected in the second round selection of the 1976 NFL draft where he played wide receiver for the six seasons up to 1981.

In the second preseason game in mid-august, of the final seasons, Raible arouse with a collapsed lung and never played again and retired the match. Soon, in June 1982, he was appointed as color analyst for the Seahawks radio broadcasts and later became a sports reporter at KIRO-TV and now shares as one of the anchors of the team.

Playing a role of analyst for 22 seasons, Raible became the lead play-to-play radio announcer for the Seahawks on flag stations KIRO-AM 710 ESPN Seattle and KIRO Radio 97.3FM, where his catchphrases included “Are you kidding me?” and “Holy catfish.”

He also hosted the TV coverage of the Seafair hydroplane races and Blue Angeles airshows. The famous news anchor shaved his famous mustache in March 2008 for which he received a lot of public attention.

In his career as a news reporter, Steve has bagged five Regional Emmy Awards, including two of them for Best Anchor.
