Her Career
After graduation from the Northwestern University of the Medill School of Journalism, Sharon initiated her career as a sideline reporter for Cleveland Cavaliers in 2005. In the year 2006, she moved to CBS affiliated KMOV.

On 5 December 2015, Sharon sidelined the news for some time at the end of her news segment. She talked about an email that she got from a woman, annoyed with her in the matter of a broadcast she conducted.
In the broadcast, she and her colleague had discussed racial issues related to two candidates (one white and another black), who applied their candidacy for the Mayor of Atlanta.
The women accused Sharon of being 'race-baiting' in the broadcast via the email. The woman also explained that Sharon expressed her view as only black people were the ultimate one to talk about race.
So, Sharon displayed the email out-on-air, which misinterpreted her words and alleged her as a racist. The video of her talking about email in her news segment went viral being shared for more than a thousand times over the social networking sites.
