Broadcaster Serena Altschul, age 48, was born on 13 October 1970 in New York City. She is the daughter of an American botanist mother, Siri Von Reis, and banker father, Arthur Altschul.

When Serena was two-years-old, her parents divorced. Since then she and her two siblings were raised by her mother. Both of her siblings is married to a journalist.

Serena, who stands at a tall height, attended Scripps College to study English literature but did not graduate.

Serena’s broadcasting career began ever since she worked as an anchor and reporter at Channel One News. In 1987, she got a job at MTV, and in 1996 she started working for MTV News. She started to host MTV News Unfiltered, Breaking it Down as well as hosted and produced True Life.

With the success and achievement, her work in MTV was truly liked by CNN team, so they hired her. She began working at CNN from 2002 to 2003. She also continued her work at MTV News while working at CNN.
