Shifting to the next chapter of her life that is her personal life, she was married to Michael A. Krauss in 1978. But their relationship failed as it ended in divorce in 1992. They were once leading a happy family is the parent of three children. The children are all daughters. Then in her single life, she got the company of a new husband in the year 2000. That year she married Jeff Konigsberg.

With him, she has borne four children- two sets of twins. The babies were born with the help of a surrogate mother. From then on like the people who are supporting gay and lesbian rights these days, she has also been speaking for surrogacy.

 In 2014, she had to face a deadly incident in her health which is she had breast cancer. However, through those hard days, she kept her faith strong, and that is how she became successful to win the battle with cancer. Today, we can find her in good health.

For her education, she went to California State University, Sacramento to get the liberal arts degree and later again studied Spanish and anthropology in Universidad de Las Americas.
