Eric Wynalda’s full name is Eric Boswell Wynalda. He is now a retired soccer player, coach, and television commentator. But he is currently working as an analyst and color commentator for soccer coverage on Fox Sports 1. He was born on June 9, 1969. He had a Dutch ancestry and was brought up in Westlake Village, California.

He was among the first Americans to go to his home country in 1996 to play in Major League Soccer and made his name by successfully scoring the first goal in the league’s history.

He played soccer from his childhood days. As a child, he was on the team called the Westlake Wolves where his father, Dave was the head coach.  His team won the state championship in AYSO soccer. His skills in the game improved year by year.

Academically, he went to Westlake High School. Then he attended San Diego State University from 1987 to 1989. There he played for the Aztecs men’s soccer team where he scored thirty-four goals and also assisted on other twenty-five goals during his three seasons. While being at the University, he also played two seasons with the local semi-pro San Diego Nomads of the Western Soccer Alliance.

Talking about his professional career, he became the first American –born player to play for the very top level German club. And on March 14, 1990, he came under the contract with United States Soccer Federation which made him a full-time national team player.

Later that year, he played his first World Cup in Italy. He also got to play in 1994 and 1998 World Cup. For his glorious achievements in his career, he has been honored with various titles like he was named the Honda US Player of the Decade for the 1990s. Also, he was elected to the National Soccer Hall of Fame. So his successful career implies that he has a lucrative net worth.

After his retirement from the national team, he was chosen to become the coach for Cal FC and Atlanta Silverbacks. He also began working as a soccer analyst for ESPN. He also did an analysis of 2006 FIFA World Cup. Now he currently does the analysis of “Fox Soccer Daily” for Fox Sports.

Personally, he was married to Amy Wynalda but unfortunately, he got a divorce with her wife after four years. In his family, there is one daughter too namely, Brooke Wynalda. Besides her, there is no valid information given about him having any other children.
