Juan Pablo Galavis was born on August 5, 1981, in Ithaca, Newyork. He is a Venezuelan former professional soccer player though he was born in America. He played as a midfielder and forward and retired in 2008. He is also a Tv personality. He was chosen as the first Latino star of the show The Bachelor by ABC-TV. His parents are from Venezuela, and he has three siblings. He moved to Venezuela with his family at the age of two.

He returned to America, later on,  to play college soccer at Roberts Wesleyan College where he became the third highest assist person in 2006 with 25 assists for goals. He was signed by football club Miami FC in February 2008 after playing several seasons in the Primera Division in Venezuela with clubs like Monagas SC, Aragua FC, Dep. Italchacao and Guaros De Lara. 

After playing a year for Miami, he left soccer and began his career in the music business with promotional work in the Miami club and bars. Through that time he also started working with Venezuelan musician/songwriters Mario Donoso and Frank Santofimio  They began promoting Venezuelan duet music called Chino y Nacho. 

Galavis also started working in television commercials and worked as a television presenter for a Miami-based sports show called Mega News for MEGA-TV. Galavís then appeared as a contestant on the show The Bachelorette in May 2013. The show was created by ABC reality television. But he got eliminated midway in the season of the show. On August 5, 2013, he was signed for season 18 of the show The Bachelor. It was scheduled to premiere in January of 2014. He was the first Latino to be the part of the show.

During this time he started a controversy in the show and said that he opposed the idea of the show which had featured an openly gay bachelor, saying, “I don’t think it is a good example for kids to watch that on TV" and that gay people are "more pervert.”  Later the channel ABC said that the comments by him were insensitive, careless, thoughtless. Galavis later apologized for his statement.

Galavis had a girlfriend named Carla Rodriguez who is a Venezuelan actress. They didn`t marry but have a daughter named Camila who was born on February 14, 2009. In October 2014, he chose Nikki Ferrell on season 18 of the show The Bachelor, but sadly their relationship ended in the same year. Besides that, he has not been associated with someone, but there were rumors about him that he is married now and has a wife.

There have been rumors that he might be dating a television host named Anabella Blum. He has always lived a controversial life whether it's his professional life or his love life. His net worth is $13 million dollars currently.
