After her parents broke their relationship, her mother Heidi began dating musician Seal Samuel. When Heidi broke up with Flavio, she was pregnant with Helene; Seal was present during her birth, so Heidi gave the tag as a father to Seal.
After Helene's birth, her mother and Seal got engaged in December 2004 as Seal got down on one knee in Whistler, British Columbia. However, Helene's mother didn't enjoy a happy married life and separated with Seal after seven years of togetherness. She filed for divorce on 6 April 2012 and requested to restore her name as Heidi Klum.
Her mother's divorced finalized on 14 October 2014. After her divorce, Heidi started dating her bodyguard Martin Kristen up to 2014. Then, she began dating the owner of Vito Schnabel Gallery, Vito Schnabel and broke up with him after three years of relationship.
